Series planned on history of TV

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation is joining with WETA-TV in Washington and a company called the Documentary Group to produce “The History of Television,” a multi-part series for PBS to premiere in 2009.
The series will draw on the foundation’s Archive of American Television, which contains interviews with scores of key figures in the medium’s history.
“Television is a medium in transition and there is no better time to step back and appreciate where it has been and where it is going,” said foundation Chairman Steve Mosko.
