No reason for so many traffic lights

“Traffic Lights Can Have You Seeing Red,” April 8, was right on target. I spend much of my driving time sitting at traffic lights at small intersections that either do not really require a light or where the light changes to red even though there is no traffic at the opposing signal.

One other frustration is the overzealous use of left-turn signals. It is annoying to be sitting at a red left-turn signal with no traffic coming toward me for blocks. If only our traffic planners would coordinate the lights.
