Military personnel to see movies free

Sitting through “Slow Burn” may be pretty dull compared with serving in Iraq, but for the next two weeks, active members of the armed services can see the Ray Liotta film and any other new movie free at all 1,500 National Amusements theaters, including the Bridge multiplex in L.A.
The promotion, which ends April 30, allows active military members and a guest to attend a movie free -- and to receive a complimentary popcorn and soda to boot. Starting May 1, National Amusements will implement $7 movie tickets for active military personnel.
“We are very excited to offer this program to our men and women in uniform and their families as a small token of the appreciation and respect we feel for those who serve our country and put their lives at risk on a daily basis,” National Amusement President Shari Redstone said in a statement Friday.
