Do concessions matter?

Re “A chance for LAX to fly,” Opinion, Sept. 14
Regarding the lack of desirable concessions at Los Angeles International Airport, who cares? Why would we want to entice more people to come to LAX at all? We’re supposedly trying to send more passengers to surrounding airports. Besides, does anyone really believe travelers won’t come to L.A. simply because they don’t like the airport? If they have family here or need to travel for business, are they going to cancel the trip because the airport doesn’t have enough cuisine choices? Will locals stay home rather than go on vacation simply because they might have to spend an hour in a terminal with limited shopping?
