Sentences Up to 20 Years Sought in 2002 Slayings

Indonesian prosecutors demanded that seven men on trial for the slayings of two American teachers at a U.S.-owned gold mine serve eight to 20 years in jail, the defense lawyer said.
The defendants are alleged to be members of a rebel movement in Papua province, where the killings took place in 2002.
Prosecutors sought 20 years for Antonius Wamang, 15 years for three others and eight years for another three, attorney Johnson Panjaitan said.
