A gunman killed two people and wounded a third early Sunday morning at a Stanton restaurant and remained at large, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers on patrol heard gunfire near Beach and Garden Grove boulevards shortly after midnight, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the department.
Deputies found three gunshot victims in the recently opened La Vie Lounge and Cuisine in the 12800 block of Beach Boulevard.
Sisavath Soukangouand, 29, and James Guajardo, 23, were taken to hospitals, where they were pronounced dead, Amormino said.
The third victim, a 20-year-old woman whose identity was withheld for her safety, was hospitalized and was expected to survive, he said.
Police questioned about 60 witnesses who were in the restaurant at the time of the attack but have no description of the suspect other than he is a male and fled on foot, Amormino said.
The motive also remains unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (714) 628-7170.
