In anticipation of the letters that are sure to be forthcoming lamenting the Lakers’ “letting Shaq get away,” I say this: It was Dwyane Wade who won the championship, and he would have done so just as easily with Elden Campbell at center.

Things Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade have in common:
* Both are extremely talented and well-conditioned shooting guards.
* Both are prolific scorers with a variety of jaw-dropping offensive moves that remind you of Elgin Baylor, Dr. J and MJ.
Things Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade do not have in common:
* Only one understands the value of having Shaquille O’Neal as a teammate.
* Only one has an NBA Finals MVP award.
