It’s hard to believe, with the Angels trying to build some kind of momentum in this disappointing season, that they would send down Jered Weaver after such a promising start. Twenty-five years ago, this was called “Fernandomania.”

Wasn’t it the legendary comic-strip character, Pogo, who said, “We have met the enemy and he is us”? The folks who call the shots for the Angels need look no further than themselves to determine the root of the current problems. Clearly, they are the enemy. And they come off as pretty good cartoon characters as well.
