Final 2006 payrolls for the 30 major league teams, as determined by the commissioner’s office. Figures are for 40-man rosters and include salaries, prorated shares of signing bonuses and earned incentive bonuses and other compensation. In some cases, parts of salaries that are deferred are discounted to reflect present-day values. Figures include money paid or received in cash transactions between teams to defray parts of salaries of traded players:
