That’s a penalty?

I happened to be listening to KYSR-FM (98.3) when Bill Handel threatened Jamie White from the “Jamie, Jack and Stench” show [“DJ Fight Hits the Airwaves,” Dec. 16, by Martin Miller]. I was surprised that a man who threatened violence against a woman in the workplace was not immediately taken into custody.
If the offender were an intern or a low-level member of Clear Channel, almost certainly he would have been arrested and terminated on the spot. However, being a powerful employee, Clear Channel gives Handel a one-week suspension. (More like one-week vacation.) That wrist-slap should mobilize the National Organization for Women to boycott sponsors of “The Bill Handel Show.” Where is Gloria Allred when you need her?

BILL Handel gets a week off -- and at Christmastime no less? Did he get a bonus too? If I had done that, I would have been blown-out on the spot!
