Adelphia plan to emerge from bankruptcy delayed

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge told Adelphia Communications Corp. that he would miss today’s deadline to decide whether to approve the company’s plan to emerge from bankruptcy protection.

Judge Robert J. Gerber asked the company and its creditors to waive the deadline, Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Adelphia said. He might not render a decision by year-end, the company said.
