Re “Older cement kilns get EPA pass on mercury,” Dec. 12
The Bush administration and the Environmental Protection Agency have done it again. They ignore court orders and let polluters dictate policy just days after industry officials meet with White House staffers. Mercury is highly toxic and is emitted by cement producers. The cement industry has revenues of more than $1 billion, but it is too much to ask it to spend millions to clean up its act. This is ludicrous. Why do we have an EPA?
