Two Darden chains to use trans fat-free oil

Darden Restaurants Inc. plans to stop using trans fat frying oils at its Olive Garden and Red Lobster chains in North America by the end of November 2007.
Darden is switching to trans fat-free oil at all of those 1,267 locations in the U.S. and Canada, the Orlando, Fla.-based company said. The restaurant operator has already changed to canola oil at more than 100 Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants in the U.S.
