King warns that Mideast is in danger

King Abdullah warned that all of the Middle East was threatened by escalating conflicts around the region, including sectarian violence in Iraq, tensions in Lebanon and fighting among Palestinians.
“Our Arab region is surrounded by dangers,” the Saudi monarch said at the opening of a summit for Persian Gulf leaders. “It is like a keg of gunpowder waiting for a spark to explode.”
He said that Iraq was slipping into “the darkness of strife and mad struggle” and that Lebanon was in danger of doing so.
