Laguna Woods pedestrian killed

A 72-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed Friday while crossing a street in Laguna Woods.
Authorities did not release her name.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. as the woman crossed El Toro Road at Tanager Lane, said Lt. Hayward Miller, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“There are no indications that there were any violations associated with the vehicle,” Miller said. “It just seems like an unfortunate accident.”
