Speechwriter to become deputy L.A. mayor

The office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Friday night that Sean Clegg, his primary speechwriter, will become a deputy mayor running his communications and press office.
Clegg replaces Cecile Ablack, who is joining the William Morris ad agency.
Ablack rarely dealt directly with the press in her year on the job. It is expected that Clegg will take a much more active role.
