Beach Closure in Effect Until at Least Today

A beach closure near the mouth of Ballona Creek will remain in effect until at least this morning, Los Angeles County officials said.
About 20,000 gallons of raw sewage were spilled into the creek early Tuesday after a Culver City pumping station failed. Officials are awaiting test results to see if water quality has improved.
