Re “Oilfield Closure to Hit Pumps,” Aug. 8
We have inspectors who visit gas stations to make sure that a gallon is a gallon at the pump and other inspectors who check to make sure that a pound is a pound at our markets. What kind of government does not require monthly inspections and reports from oil producers on a pipeline that is so vital to the U.S.?

It seems as though the giant oil company was too busy making gross profits to monitor the oil pipeline that brings oil to California. Californians should write to their elected officials who are not oilmen to demand an investigation.
