Jury Starts Deliberations in Gambino Scion Case

A federal jury finished its first day of deliberations without a verdict in the trial of John A. “Junior” Gotti, the scion of the Gambino organized crime family charged with plotting a botched attack on a radio show host.
Prosecutors allege that Gotti, 41, ordered his crew to give Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels crime-fighting group, a severe beating in 1992 in retaliation for Sliwa’s on-air criticisms of his father, late mob boss John Gotti.
