Oscars could take a cue from Tonys

THE decision of the Tony Award authorities to recognize the contribution of replacement stars to the success of Broadway shows [Quick Takes, Sept. 24] contrasts with the refusal of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to create an Oscar category for casting directors and stunt coordinators -- two areas that make an enormous and obvious contribution to the magic of the movies that directors and producers now claim, by default, as the result of their vision and talent.
