Finally, a push for answers on Iraq

Re “Democrats Force Closed Debate,” Nov. 2
Hurray for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). It is about time that Democrats represent the American people and stand up for us. We deserve answers as to how we are in this mess of a never-ending war and spending billions in Iraq when our folks need help at home.
The Republicans are in step with the Bush administration, and they are cowards in not speaking out for Americans when they know something is very wrong with President Bush’s policies and tactics.
We finally have hope that we have a voice in Washington through Harry.

It is about time that the Senate makes a real inquiry regarding the intelligence prompting the launching of the Iraq war.
It would seem Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) and other vocal opponents must have something to fear from the truth, because they should embrace the opportunity to know the facts behind this debacle.
Seeking the truth in this and other related matters is a part of our democratic process and is a truly American thing to do, not un-American as Frist would have us believe. He should be ashamed for such an extreme show of his attitude.

Frist thinks the Democratic leadership “has no convictions.” Well, that works just fine for me. He might not be able to say that about himself, Rep. Tom DeLay or “Scooter” Libby in the near future.
