Prop. 69 DNA Samples Lead to Two Arrests

DNA samples collected as a result of last year’s passage of Proposition 69 have resulted in the first arrests in the county.
Blood left on a tool at a Victorville car dealership where 10 cars were burglarized led to the arrest of Ian James Thomas, who had been detained in an Orange County case in January.
Additionally, saliva inside a ski mask recovered after a Victorville bank robbery in August 2003 links Jimmy Del Willis to the crime, authorities alleged. Willis was arrested on suspicion of robbery in Apple Valley in January, sheriff’s officials said.
