Pinochet Treated for a Mild Stroke

Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet suffered a mild stroke and was treated at a hospital for five hours before being released.
The 89-year-old former military leader “looked normal, fully conscious” as he left Santiago Military Hospital, said spokesman Guillermo Garin. Pinochet has suffered at least two mild strokes in the past.
He was taken to the hospital from Los Boldos, his country residence about 85 miles southwest of Santiago. Courts have cited his health in twice shielding him from being tried on human rights charges stemming from his 1973-90 rule.
