Link to Petting Zoo Studied in Girl’s Death

A girl’s death is being investigated for a possible connection to an outbreak of E. coli bacterial infections among people who attended fairs that included petting zoos, the state’s top health official said in Tallahassee.
Florida Health Secretary John Agwunobi said there were 14 confirmed cases of people becoming ill after attending the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City or the Central Florida Fair in Orlando.
The 12-year-old girl who died reportedly had visited the strawberry festival.
