U.N. Officer Killed in Israeli Shelling

A French officer serving with United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon was killed by Israeli shelling, shortly after a Hezbollah bomb attack killed an Israeli soldier and wounded three near the border, Lebanese and U.N. officials said.
The slain officer worked for the U.N. Observation Group Lebanon, which monitors the 1949 armistice agreement between Lebanon and Israel, a U.N. spokesman said.
