Quake Retrofit Set for University High Campus
- Share via
Los Angeles Unified School District officials said Thursday that they would proceed with work to reduce potential hazards from earthquake faults under six buildings on the University High School campus.
Using funds from its last bond measure, the district plans to build a new gymnasium to replace the school’s boys’ gymnasium, rebuild the music room and initiate other seismic retrofit projects.
District representatives will conduct seismic studies this summer at five other campuses near fault lines -- Brockton Elementary, Burbank Middle, San Pascual Elementary, Harding Middle and Osceola Street Elementary.
