State High Court to Rule on Relocation of Art

The state Supreme Court has agreed to wade into the fight over whether the Barnes Foundation will be allowed to move its renowned art collection from the suburbs to a new gallery in Philadelphia’s museum district.
The two-sentence order did not say when the court hoped to hear arguments or when the justices might rule.
Barnes officials said deteriorating finances and problems providing public access made it necessary to seek a location that could attract more paying visitors. Students at the foundation’s art school have challenged the move.
