Writers Guild gets Wilder collection
Audrey Wilder, the widow of famed writer-director Billy Wilder, has donated her late husband’s personal script collection to the Writers Guild Foundation and also has contributed $500,000 toward the construction of a new library to house it at the Writers Guild headquarters in L.A.
The collection of 31 scripts includes those for such classic films as “Some Like It Hot,” “Stalag 17,” “The Apartment” and “Sunset Boulevard.” They are available for on-site viewing now.
The foundation has set a goal of $1.9 million to rebuild the library that it opened to the public in 1996.
