Red-carpet fashion maven Steven Cojocaru said Monday that a genetic condition will require him to undergo a kidney transplant operation.
Cojocaru, a correspondent for the syndicated television shows “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider,” said he suffers from polycystic kidney disease, which, according to the Merck Manual of Medical Information, causes cysts to grow in both kidneys, diminishing functioning tissue.
“I feel great; the prognosis is excellent,” Cojocaru told “Entertainment Tonight” host Mary Hart in an interview taped for broadcast Monday night. He was diagnosed as having the disease during a general checkup.
