Ex-Official Enters Plea in PTA Embezzling Case

The former treasurer of a local PTA chapter has pleaded not guilty to charges that he stole tens of thousands of dollars from the organization.
Michael John Rangel was arraigned Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court. He is charged with felony grand theft in the alleged embezzlement of about $35,000 from the Parent-Teacher Assn. at Kettler Elementary School in the Huntington Beach City School District.
