Three men who authorities say had ties to a militia group accused of plotting to assassinate public officials in Kalispell were arrested on federal firearms charges.
The arrests stem from an investigation that began in February 2002 into a group calling itself Project 7. Authorities say they uncovered evidence that members of the group had an arsenal of weapons and were plotting to kill local police, prosecutors, judges and other officials.
Only one other man had previously been charged in the case. He pleaded guilty to firearms charges.
