The San Bernardino County district attorney will not seek the death penalty against Damien Guerrero and Kinzie Noordman, the Redlands friends charged with murdering their acquaintance Kelly Bullwinkle, 19, in September.
John Kochis, a chief deputy district attorney supervising the case, said the suspects’ lack of a criminal record was a factor in the decision. Instead, the prosecution will seek a sentence of life in prison without parole.
