Cincinnati donor covers deficit

An anonymous donor has agreed to cover all of what could be a $1.8-million budget deficit for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the symphony said Thursday.
The exact amount of the deficit -- partly due to the lowered value of the symphony’s endowment because of a downturn in the stock market -- will not be known until the fiscal year closes Aug. 31.
