Customers Don’t Win With Mega Banks

Regarding “BofA, Fleet Shareholders OK Merger,” March 18:
Undoubtedly the owners of Bank of America Corp. or FleetBoston Financial Corp. stock will fare well. Unfortunately, the rest of us will see more hidden fees and less customer service.
It is a pity the Federal Reserve sees nothing wrong with allowing big banks to get bigger.
Someone should explain that three mega banks does not a competitive marketplace make.
