Man, Child Killed After Crashing Into Garage

A man and his young child died Monday when their minivan crashed into a garage below an apartment in Pacific Palisades, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
Officer Jason Lee, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman, said detectives were investigating the incident as an accident. The crash occurred at 2:25 p.m. in the 800 block of Haverford Avenue.
The man was in his 30s and the child was about 5 years old, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said. Their identities were not released.
