‘Two Soldiers’
Aaron Schneider and Andrew J. Sacks
Cinematographer on such feature films as “Kiss the Girls” and “Simon Birch,” Aaron Schneider directed and adapted “Two Soldiers” from a short story by William Faulkner. The first-time nominee accepted his award with his producer, Andrew J. Sacks.
Concerning two brothers torn apart by the events of Pearl Harbor, the short features a supporting role played by Ron Perlman.
In one of the livelier acceptance speeches of the night, Schneider thanked host Billy Crystal for once recommending a film school, as well as producer Joe Roth and conductor Marc Shaiman for holding off on bringing up his exit-music cue.
