Four Arrested After Fights Start at Dominguez

Four people were arrested and the nonleague football game between Compton Dominguez and Compton was delayed late in the fourth quarter after several fights broke out Friday night at Dominguez High.
There were no injuries reported, said Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Drake, and the game resumed with Dominguez taking a 28-14 victory.
The fighting was reported at 9:05 p.m., Drake said. About 14 deputies were at the game along with Compton school district police when “numerous fights in the stands between rival fans” broke out, Drake said. An estimated 20 students were involved, he said.
There was a “strong police presence already there,” he said, partly in response to a fight earlier Friday at Compton High.
When deputies and school police officers approached, the fighting broke up, Drake said. Compton school police then arrested four people.
