Anti-Gang Program Set at 11 Elementary Schools

A program to provide fourth- and fifth-grade students with alternatives to street gangs is expanding to 11 schools in Watts, Mayor James K. Hahn announced Wednesday.
The gang alternatives program puts young people through a 12-week class to teach them about the dangers of joining gangs, as well as steer them toward other options.
