Thieves stole a $20,000 bronze Buddha statue from a Koreatown temple earlier this month, police said Saturday.
The 3-foot-tall, 200-pound statue was taken from the Kwan Um Temple in the 4200 block of West 3rd Street on July 2, police said.
The figure, imported from Korea, depicts a seated Buddha with his right leg crossed and right hand raised. Police would not say why the theft was not made public sooner. Further details of the crime were not disclosed.
