Re “Animal-Fat Dioxins Pose Risk, Group Says,” July 2: According to Robert Lawrence of the Institute of Medicine, “We are recycling about 11 billion pounds of dioxins each year back into animal feed -- from trimmings at the slaughterhouse.”
Dioxins aside for the moment, isn’t that the cause of mad cow disease, feeding animal parts to herbivores?
