Khmer Rouge Trials Are a Must, Premier Says

Prime Minister Hun Sen said trials must be held to clear away the tragic legacy of the Khmer Rouge, whose rule in the 1970s left more than a million Cambodians dead.

His remarks came as Cambodian envoys met with U.N. officials in New York to attempt to restart talks on creating a tribunal to try former Khmer Rouge leaders accused of genocide and crimes against humanity.
