Sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man found dead Feb. 1 in a flood-control channel near the end of Artisan Road on the north side of the Ventura Freeway, between Ventu Park Road and Rancho Conejo Boulevard.
The clean-shaven man of either Latino or Middle Eastern descent was in his 20s or 30s and is described as 5 feet 9, 155 pounds with neatly trimmed black hair and a small, crooked front tooth, officials said.
He has a 2-inch scar on both upper arms and a 1-inch scar on the left side of his chest. The man had a thin red braided ribbon around his left ankle and was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and pants.
Preliminary investigation indicates there was no foul play, and the man appears to have been dead for several days.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department at 654-2311.
