Drobnjak on Injured List
Predrag Drobnjak, whose playing time and confidence had declined at an equal rate in the last two weeks, fell out of the rotation altogether Friday when the Clippers put the 6-foot-11 center on the injured list, saying it was because of back spasms.
NBA injured-list rules allow clubs to carry as many as 15 players, 12 on the active roster.
Guard Eddie House replaced Drobnjak on the active roster.
Drobnjak had played only 40 minutes over six games since rookie Chris Kaman replaced him in the starting lineup, and Coach Mike Dunleavy pulled him late in Wednesday’s 93-83 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks after he had played only four minutes.
The Serbian, averaging 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds a game, must sit out a minimum of five games, making him ineligible to be activated before Dec. 29.
