Re “Hollywood Isn’t Holding Its Lines Against the Pentagon,” Commentary, Aug. 19: It seems that Jonathan Turley has uncovered the existence of gravity. It is common knowledge that the Pentagon has had a long-established policy of reviewing circumstances under which it is portrayed when, and only when, it is requested to provided assistance to a film.
The Pentagon does not inflict its opinion and review unless requested to provide its assistance with on-site advisors, military equipment, etc. Surprise, surprise. Congress has more important things to do than what Turley suggests.
