3-Year-Old Boy Found in Running Washer Dies

A missing toddler who was found in a running washing machine over the weekend has died, hospital officials said.
Andrew Alarcon, 3, died at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
“Apparently, he was trying to retrieve something,” said Louisa County Sheriff Curt Braby. “Obviously, he was unable to get himself back out.”
Andrew’s parents and at least one sibling were home Sunday at the time of the incident, Braby said. No charges were expected.
