Closing Gang Task Force Would Be Senseless

Re “O.C. Gang Task Force Disbanding,” Nov. 26:
As someone active in Anaheim’s Gang/Drug Task Force in the early 1990s, it makes no sense to me to read about the closing of the Regional Gang Enforcement Team, especially with the increasing gang difficulties in Los Angeles.
I would encourage Orange County residents to get behind their police chiefs, city council members and the Board of Supervisors to continue aggressive measures against gang activities. With proper focus and resources, this is one public problem that we can and must win.
