* Profit at Expedia Inc., a unit of Barry Diller’s USA Networks, beat analysts’ estimates as more consumers turned to the Internet to compare travel fares and book hotel and airline reservations. Excluding some costs, Expedia said it would have had profit of $28.4 million, or 46 cents a share, 20 cents better than estimates. Sales more than doubled to $116 million.
