From Times Wire Reports
A woman pleaded guilty to child abuse and was sentenced to probation and community service in the death of her 10-year-old daughter, who suffocated while wrapped in blankets during a “rebirthing” therapy session.
Jeane Newmaker, 48, admitted her part in a case that led Colorado to outlaw the form of therapy.
Judge Jane Tidball ordered Newmaker, who lives in Durham, N.C., to be supervised for four years. She also must complete 400 hours of community service and undergo grief counseling.
