Rangers Beat Sabres on Leetch’s OT Goal

Brian Leetch scored with 2:15 left in overtime as the New York Rangers beat the Buffalo Sabres, 5-4, Sunday in New York.
Leetch’s shot caromed off Buffalo goalie Bob Essensa’s arm and bounced into the net.
Eric Lindros had a goal and an assist in his first home game with the Rangers as New York came back from a 3-1 deficit.
The other Ranger goals were scored by Radek Dvorak, Andreas Johansson and Michal Grosek.
Carolina 3, Dallas 0--Arturs Irbe recorded his 31st career shutout and Josef Vasicek, Martin Gelinas and Jeff O’Neill scored for the Hurricanes at Raleigh, N.C.
Irbe stopped 32 shots for his 100th Carolina victory.
Florida 5, Tampa Bay 0--Roberto Luongo recorded his seventh career shutout, and Jason Wiemer had two goals and an assist as the Panthers won at Tampa, Fla.
Luongo had 28 saves, including one on an in-close chance by Fredrik Modin during a four-minute power play in the second period.
