San Marcos Wins Title

Santa Barbara San Marcos won its third Southern Section boys’ golf title in the last five years, shooting a section-record 359 Thursday at The PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Calimesa.
Junior Tyler Ley shot five-under-par 67 to lead the Royals, who bettered their section mark of 364 set in 1981. San Marcos was undefeated in 20 matches and two tournaments this season.
Palm Desert finished second at 375 and Santa Margarita was third with 379. Anaheim Servite earned the fourth and final berth in the June 5 season-ending CIF-SCGA championships when it defeated Huntington Beach in a playoff.
